Limited train service now running through Trowbridge
A limited train service has restarted through Trowbridge, after the line was closed yesterday (Wednesday).
Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service had applied a 200m cordon around a scrapyard in Drynham Lane after an acetylene cylinder was found amongst fire debris. Firefighters had earlier dealt with a car fire on the site.
Specialist advice this morning has confirmed that the cylinder is now deemed as ‘low risk’ and the railway line has been partially reopened. It is hoped to remove the cylinder from the scene by early afternoon, at which time the railway will be fully opened.
One fire crew remains in attendance at Drynham Lane.
