Get your car washed for charity!

Drivers will be able to get fire safety advice for the home while their cars get a gleaming polish at a special car wash event in Trowbridge this Saturday (13 September).

Trowbridge firefighters will be taking part in a national car wash for the Fire Fighters Charity between 10am and 3pm.

Local people are invited to take their cars along to the fire station on Hilperton Road and make a donation to get their car washed. They can also talk to the firefighters and find out how to make their homes safer against the dangers of fire.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel, their widows/widowers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, as well as giving financial support to those who need it. The charity works with some 11,000 beneficiaries every year at a cost of £9 million per annum, and these services are financed almost exclusively by fundraising.
