Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative person with a proven track record for web developing. You will expected to manage, design, maintain and upgrade the Service’s web and graphical systems to a high standard, offering essential and informative services to the public and all FRS staff. You will also offer consultancy, support and guidance to Service staff for development of internal/external solutions.
Candidates must have a formal qualification in web development and offer excellent communication skills and relevant experience with a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP, java script, IIS, PHP and Adobe web and graphic tools. You must also be able to offer the ability to design, develop and build Content Management Systems which integrate with Microsoft Share Point Portal Services 2007 and Microsoft Office (2003/2007).

Regional HR Officer

This is an exciting and challenging time to be part of the changes within the Fire &
Rescue Service. This role provides an opportunity to help build on the successful HR
collaborations between the Fire & Rescue Services in the South West and to transform
and enhance the way in which HR activities are delivered.
Reporting to the Regional HR Manager and supporting the regional Human Resource
Management Development workstreams, the post will take a lead role in coordinating
and supporting regional HR projects so that South West Fire and Rescue Services can
realise the benefits and efficiencies to be gained from regional collaboration.
The responsibilities of this post will be as varied as they are challenging but will primarily
involve working on collaborative regional projects; in most cases taking the lead role,
providing a monitoring and reporting mechanism for the regional HRMD business plan
progress, researching new HR initiatives for development into project plans and carrying
out benchmarking of regional HR statistics to identify areas of good practice. The post
will also provide guidance and advice to fire & rescue services as well as high level HR
administration to the HRMD workstream.
We are looking for a CIPD qualified professional who is highly motivated and able to
enthuse others to engage in new initiatives. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as a
good HR generalist background are key to the success of this role.
Proven communication skills are essential, whilst experience of working in a project
management environment is desirable.
The role will require travelling and at times this will require by car.

An opportunity has arisen for Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service to recruit a Principal Accountant to provide professional financial advice to employees and managers and support the Director, Finance in the effective management of the financial affairs of the Service by providing technical support, knowledge and experience. The postholder will be responsible for managing and developing the core financial systems and will lead and/or contribute to service reviews and projects, ensuring value for money is achieved, identifying and delivering service efficiencies and improvements.
The successful candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification, preferably CIPFA, with both technical experience and managerial experience in a local government or Corporate Finance environment. Extensive technical knowledge of financial management information systems, developing and implementing corporate financial policies, providing financial advice and project work are essential. Candidates will be highly motivated and organised, able to work on their own initiative, as well as manage small teams and prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with people at all levels within the Service. You will be IT literate with vast knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.
