The Freedom of Information Act 2000
creates a statutory right for anyone to know, if a Public Authority,
which includes the Wiltshire and Swindon Fire Authority holds specific
information. It also introduces new rights of access to our information
and requires us to publish details of the information we hold and
what we publish routinely. This is known as a
Publication Scheme.
This Scheme provides guidance on directing you to information
held by the Fire Authority and whether it will be provided free of
charge or upon payment of a charge. The information has been separated
into classes based on our primary operational roles and responsibilities
as an Emergency Service. The term information includes electronic
documents, printed material, reports, leaflets and video/digital recordings.
Not all the information we hold will be available to you and is notified
in the publication scheme and known as exempt material.
The Officer with the overall responsibility for maintaining this scheme on behalf of the
Wiltshire & Swindon Fire Authority is Emma Roberts, Corporate Information Manager.
