The Black Dog road safety partnership
AboutWiltshire Fire & Rescue Service and Wiltshire police have joined forces to show drivers the potential consequences of being in a crash on the roads, highlighting risks such as speeding, losing concentration, using mobiles phones, drinking and not wearing a seatbelt. The crumpled remains of a car involved in a fatal road traffic collision is used in the hard hitting road safety campaign. The car is displayed in public areas, businesses and schools across the county in a bid to help tackle the problem of road deaths and injuries in Wiltshire and Swindon. In attendance with the car are Firefighters, Police and victims of road traffic collisions who will speak about the dangers on our roads. The whole aim about the campaign is to make people THINK. Drivers are constantly being told to take care, but this shows the consequences of not taking care. We hope that seeing the brutal reality of a road traffic collision will help change people behaviour “A partnership project between Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service and Wiltshire Police”
