Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service currently has two landrover pumps in use. They are designed to act as a lightweight firefighting appliance. The standard fire engine (Dennis Sabre) cannot access all areas, due to its size and weight. Therefore, the landrover pump was introduced to gain access to these rural and remote areas.

It is fitted with a small, but adequate water tank and and the relevant pump, hoses and equipment to be able to cope with most small rural fires.

Typical incidents that it may attend include:

Small grass/crop fires
barn fires
any off-road incident
