PURPOSE OF APPLIANCE
The Damage Control Unit (DCU) is mobilised to incidents,
where a area or building has been damaged by fire or extreme weather
(high winds, flooding etc.). It's primary purpose is to alleviate
the effects of the incident and secure the area from any further
damage. For example, securing a building's roof to prevent further
damage from rain water.
For this purpose the DCU carries a supply of expendable materials,
such as plastic sheeting and wooden boarding, as well as the tools
required to work with such materials.
